- Any pregnancy emergency, or severe abdominal pain that keeps worsening
- A severe allergic reaction — swelling of face or throat

About hospitals in Da Nang
Da Nang has public hospitals as well as private and international facilities. Public hospitals handle emergencies and serious cases and are generally the cheaper option; private and international facilities usually cost more and are more likely to have English-speaking staff and shorter waits. We do not run any hospital and we have no commercial arrangement with any of them, so we cannot recommend one over another — but here is what is worth knowing before you go.
- Bring your passport and your travel insurance details, including the policy number and the insurer's emergency phone line.
- Many facilities ask you to pay first and claim back from your insurer later — check whether yours does direct billing.
- Ask for an itemised invoice and a medical report in English before you leave; getting it afterwards is much harder.
